“In those days King Hezekiah became sick. He was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him, and said to him. ‘Thus says Yahweh. ‘Set your house in order. You shall die. You shall not recover.’ Then King Hezekiah turned his face to the wall. He prayed to Yahweh, saying. ‘Remember now, O Yahweh, I implore you, how I have walked before you in faithfulness and with a whole heart. I have done what is good in thy sight.’ King Hezekiah wept bitterly.”

There is some vague time indication with “in those days.” Obviously these sections should have preceded the invasion of King Sennacherib in chapters 18 and 19. With that in mind, the stories are still interesting. King Hezekiah became so sick that he was dying. The prophet Isaiah came to him and said that he should get his house in order. He was going to die and not recover. Since the prophet had spoken, what else was there to do? King Hezekiah prayed and wept to Yahweh. He said that he had tried to walk correctly in the sight of Yahweh with his whole heart.
