The descendants of Dan

In Numbers, chapter 26:42-43, Dan had only one son, but he has two different names between here and Genesis, where he was called Hushim not Shuham.  Since the names do not appear elsewhere, we may assume that they are different spellings of the same name.  Thus, there was only one clan of Shuhamites named after Shuham.  There was no mention of his children.  Actually, this was a very large clan.  The descendants of Dan increased by only 1,700, 64,400 from 62,700, but that is a substantial number.  What do you know about Dan?
