You are our letter of recommendation (2 Cor. 3:2)

“You yourselves

Are our letters of recommendation,

Written on your hearts,

To be known

And read

By all men.”

Paul said that you yourselves are our letters of recommendation (ἡ ἐπιστολὴ ἡμῶν ὑμεῖς ἐστε), written on your hearts (ἐνγεγραμμένη ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ἡμῶν), to be known (γινωσκομένη) and read (καὶ ἀναγινωσκομένη) by all men or everyone (ὑπὸ πάντων ἀνθρώπων).  Paul said that there was no need for any letters of recommendation, because his connection to the Corinthians was written in their hearts.  Anyone who knew or read their hearts would know this right away.  Their very lives were a letter of recommendation that Paul was a true Christian apostle.  There was no need for any kind of written evidence.  Do you have people who would recommend you?
