We have to grow up (Eph. 4:15)

“But speaking

The truth

In love,

We must grow up

In every way

Into him

Who is the head,

Into Christ.”

ἀληθεύοντες δὲ ἐν ἀγάπῃ αὐξήσωμεν εἰς αὐτὸν τὰ πάντα, ὅς ἐστιν ἡ κεφαλή, Χριστός,

Paul said, “But speaking the truth (ἀληθεύοντες) in love (ἐν ἀγάπῃ), we must grow up (αὐξήσωμεν) in every way into him (εἰς αὐτὸν τὰ πάντα) who is the head (ὅς ἐστιν ἡ κεφαλή), into Christ (Χριστός).”  Only the Pauline letters used this word ἀληθεύοντες, that means to speak the truth, do the truth, or maintain truth.  Paul explained that by speaking and doing the truth in a loving way, we would all grow up or be mature Christians, like Christ, the head of the church or the community body.  We had to grow in loving truth about Jesus Christ.  We then would be able to resist the false schemes of other people.  We would not remain immature Christians.  Do you consider yourself an immature Christian?
