They reach five thousand followers (Acts 4:4)

“But many of those

Who heard the word

Believed.

They numbered

About five thousand.”

πολλοὶ δὲ τῶν ἀκουσάντων τὸν λόγον ἐπίστευσαν, καὶ ἐγενήθη ἀριθμὸς τῶν ἀνδρῶν ὡς χιλιάδες πέντε.

The author of Acts indicated that many of those (πολλοὶ δὲ) who heard the word (τῶν ἀκουσάντων τὸν λόγον) believed (ἐπίστευσαν).  Thus, they now numbered (καὶ ἐγενήθη ἀριθμὸς) about five thousand men (τῶν ἀνδρῶν ὡς χιλιάδες πέντε) who followed Jesus.  Once again, there was a little summary about the growth of this Jewish Christian community.  Many people that had listened to Peter, repented, and had been baptized.  Now they numbered over 5,000.  They had gone from 12 apostles to 150 on resurrection Sunday, and then to 3,000 at Pentecost.  Now, they had added another 2,000 followers since Pentecost.  Obviously, there was no way to get an exact count.  The trend was obvious.  How many people are in your Christian congregation?
