The reign of King Jehoahaz in Judah (609 BCE) (2 Kings 23:31-23:32)

“King Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign. He reigned three months in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, just as his ancestors had done.”

King Jehoahaz was 23 years old when he began to rule, but he only lasted 3 months. His mother Hamutal was the daughter of Jeremiah, but not the prophet Jeremiah, and wife of Josiah. However, he did not follow the ways of his father, but more like the older ancestor kings of Judah.
