Remembering these words (Jn 2:22-2:22)

“After Jesus was raised

From the dead,

His disciples remembered

That he had said this.

They believed

The writings

And the word

That Jesus had spoken.”

John uniquely indicated that only after Jesus was raised from the dead (ὅτε οὖν ἠγέρθη ἐκ νεκρῶν), did his disciples remember (ἐμνήσθησαν οἱ μαθηταὶ) that Jesus had said this (αὐτοῦ ὅτι τοῦτο ἔλεγεν).  Thus, his disciples believed (καὶ ἐπίστευσαν) the writings or the Scriptures (τῇ γραφῇ) as well as the words (καὶ τῷ λόγῳ) that Jesus had spoken (ὃν εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς).  Perhaps Jesus wrote something or definitely others wrote about him.  Jesus’ words were now almost equivalent to the Hebrew scriptures themselves.  These disciples of Jesus believed in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, based on his words and the Scriptures.  They only remembered and realized this after his resurrection.  Thus, this was realized prophecy after the fact.  Have you discovered things after they had happened?
