Paul asked the Thessalonians to pray for him and his companions, so that the word of God might spread more rapidly and be glorified like it was among the people of Thessalonica. He hoped that they would be rescued form evil people who do not believe anything. The Lord is faithful and will guard them from these evil people. Paul had confidence in the Lord that they would continue to do what Paul had asked them to do. God would direct them to a life of love and steadfastness in Christ. Do you have a life of love and steadiness?
Paul said that he had heard of their faith. He remembered them in his prayers. He prayed that God would give them a spirit of wisdom. He wanted them to get a revelation about knowledge of Jesus Christ, so that their hearts might be enlightened. They had hope in their inheritance. The power of God has been given to them. God showed his power when he raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Jesus Christ now sits at the right hand of God. Christ is above everyone, the past, the present, and the future. Jesus is the head of all things in the church, which is his body.
Paul then gave the blessing of Christ to his readers. He asked them to pray for him and his success. He hoped to see them soon, God willing. Until then, he asked that they receive the God of peace. Do you believe in the God of peace?
