It is the same absent or present (2 Cor. 10:11)

“Let such people understand

That what we say

By letter

When absent,

We do

When present.”

Paul said, “Let such people understand (τοῦτο λογιζέσθω ὁ τοιοῦτος) that what we say by letter (τῷ λόγῳ δι’ ἐπιστολῶν) when absent (ἀπόντες), we do when present (τοιοῦτοι καὶ παρόντες τῷ ἔργῳ).”  Only the Pauline letters used this word ἀπόντες, that means to be away or to be absent.  Paul indicated that there was no difference on his part, whether with them in person or away by letter.  He was doing and saying the same things.  Paul said that there was no discrepancy about what he said in person or wrote to them when he was not with them.  He said and did the same thing no matter what.  Are you consistent about what you say in person or by a letter, text, or email?
