He was born blind (Jn 9:20-9:20)

“His parents answered.

‘We know

That this is our son.

He was born blind.’”

John uniquely indicated that the parents (οὖν οἱ γονεῖς αὐτοῦ) of this cured blind man answered (ἀπεκρίθησαν) them.  They said (καὶ εἶπαν) that they knew (Οἴδαμεν) that he was their son (ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς ἡμῶν).  They also knew that he was born blind (καὶ ὅτι τυφλὸς ἐγεννήθη).  They ascertained the facts that he was their son and that he was born blind, pure and simple.  They told these inquisitors what they were sure of.  This was their son who was born blind?  Do you know anyone born blind?
