God has created us (Eph. 2:10)

“We are

What God had made us.

We are created

In Christ Jesus

For good works.

God prepared beforehand

That we should walk

In them.”

Paul said, “We are what God had made us (αὐτοῦ γάρ ἐσμεν ποίημα).  We are created (κτισθέντες) in Christ Jesus (ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ) for good works (ἐπὶ ἔργοις ἀγαθοῖς).  God (ὁ Θεὸς) prepared beforehand (οἷς προητοίμασεν) that we should walk in them (ἵνα ἐν αὐτοῖς περιπατήσωμεν).”  Only the Pauline letters used this word ποίημα, that means a work or a thing made, and the word προητοίμασεν, that means to prepare before, appoint beforehand, or predestine.  We are the work of God, not by ourselves.  We were created in Jesus Christ for doing good works.  God has predestined us that we should live in Jesus Christ.  We walk, talk, and do things in the light of Jesus Christ.  God knew that we would do this, since he is eternal without time, while we live in finite time.  Were you created for good works?
