Elihu reviews Job’s defense (Job 33:8-33:11)

“Surely, you have spoken in my hearing.

I have heard the sound of your words.

You say.

‘I am clean.

I am without transgression.

I am pure.

There is no iniquity in me.

He finds occasions against me,

He counts me as his enemy.

He puts my feet in the stocks.

He watches all my paths.’”

Elihu reviewed what Job had said. He had heard the words himself. Job had maintained that he was clean and pure with no iniquity within him. However, Job had also said that God was finding occasions to go against him, like an enemy. He was like in a stockade with God watching his footsteps. Now why was the innocent one in stockades?
