“Now the rest of his acts and all his ways, from first to last, are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel. King Ahaz slept with his ancestors. They buried him in the city of Jerusalem. But they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel. His son Hezekiah succeeded him.”
Once again this is based on 2 Kings, chapter 16. In fact, this chronicler also referred to the lost “Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel,” as had 2 Kings. King Ahaz died and was buried in Jerusalem. There is no indication of how he died. However, he was not buried in the tomb of kings even though he and his father were kings of Judah. His son King Hezekiah followed him to the throne.
