Do not be found with a spot or blemish (2 Pet 3:14)

While you are waiting

For these things,

Strive to be found

By him

At peace,

Without spot

Or blemish.”

Διό, ἀγαπητοί, ταῦτα προσδοκῶντες σπουδάσατε ἄσπιλοι καὶ ἀμώμητοι αὐτῷ εὑρεθῆναι ἐν εἰρήνῃ,

This author said, “Therefore (Διό), Beloved (ἀγαπητοί)!  While you are waiting (προσδοκῶντες) for these things (ταῦτα), strive (σπουδάσατε) to be found (εὑρεθῆναι) by him (αὐτῷ) at peace (ἐν εἰρήνῃ), without spot (ἄσπιλοι) or blemish (καὶ ἀμώμητοι).”  Among the canonical Greek New Testament writings, this is the only time that this word appeared in 2 Peter, the word ἀμώμητοι, that means blameless, without blame or fault, or unblemished.  This author once again called his readers “beloved.”  While they were waiting for the Parousia of the Lord, Jesus Christ, they should try to be found by God to be spotless and unblemished.  They should be like the Israelite sacrifices before the altar of God, pure and blameless.  This is how you get ready for the end times by being spotless.  Are you pure and blameless?
