Can you convict Jesus of sin? (Jn 8:46-8:46)

“Which of you

Convicts me of sin?

If I tell the truth,

Why do you

Not believe me?”

τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐλέγχει με περὶ ἁμαρτίας; εἰ ἀλήθειαν λέγω, διὰ τί ὑμεῖς οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι;

John uniquely indicated that Jesus asked which of them would convict him (τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐλέγχει με) of sin (περὶ ἁμαρτίας)?  If he was telling the truth (εἰ ἀλήθειαν λέγω), why did they not believe him (διὰ τί ὑμεῖς οὐ πιστεύετέ μοι)?  This seemed like a simple question.  They could not convict Jesus of a sin, since he was sinless.  He was faithful in the mission of his Father.  He wanted to know what was keeping them from believing in him, Jesus?  What is keeping you from believing in Jesus, the truth teller?
