Are merchants and tradsemen evil doers?

May 26, 2016

The evil merchants (Sir 26:29-26:29)

“A merchant can hardly keep

From wrongdoing.

A tradesman is

Not innocent of sin.”

In a strong statement, Sirach claims that merchants can hardly keep from doing wrong things. A tradesman would also have a hard time keeping innocent from sin.
