The first vision (chapter 1)

John was on the island of Patmos.  He was their brother who shared in their tribulations and endurance for the kingdom of God, because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.  He was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day.  He heard a loud voice like a trumpet.  He was told to write a book for seven churches about what he saw.  He was supposed to send it to the Christian communities at Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea, all near each other in Asia Minor. Have you ever heard of these churches?
