The woman and her child in Revelation

There was a woman with her recently born child in Revelation.  Who is this woman?  One response is Israel.  Another response might be the virgin mother of Jesus Christ, Mary.  Who is the Child?  If the child is Jesus, then it makes sense that the woman is either Israel or Mary, since Jesus from a human perspective comes from both Mary and Israel.  The twelve stars around her could represent the twelve tribes of Israel.  The evil Satan has done his best to try to destroy God’s redemptive plan, the birth of Jesus Christ on earth by a virgin woman.  The death of Jesus, the Son of God, pure, holy, and sinless, with his resurrection from the grave defeated death and sin.  God aided the woman’s escape into the wilderness.  For 1,260 days, 3 1/2 years or 42 months, Israel or this woman was protected in the wilderness.  When the dragon, the evil fallen angel, had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child, Jesus Christ.  But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she fled into the wilderness to her secure place, where she was nourished for a time.  The earth helped the woman.  Would you help this woman?
