They will lie there for three and half days (Rev 11:9)

“For three and a half days,

Of the peoples,

The tribes,

The languages,

And the nations

Will gaze

At their dead bodies.

They will refuse

To let them

Be placed

In a tomb.”

John said, “For three and a half days (ἡμέρας τρεῖς καὶ ἥμισυ), members of the peoples (ἐκ τῶν λαῶν), the tribes (καὶ φυλῶν), the languages (καὶ γλωσσῶν), and the nations (καὶ ἐθνῶν) will gaze (καὶ βλέπουσιν) at their dead bodies (τὸ πτῶμα αὐτῶν).  They will refuse (οὐκ ἀφίουσιν) to let their bodies (καὶ τὰ πτώματα αὐτῶν) be placed (τεθῆναι) in a tomb (εἰς μνῆμα).”  The two killed witnesses laid in the street of the great city for three and a half days.  All the various peoples, tribes, various language speakers, and the gentiles from all over the world would gaze on their dead bodies in the street.  They would not let anyone bury them in a tomb.  They simply laid them out in this big city street.  However, this was for only a short period or time, three and a half days.  Have you ever seen a dead person lying in the street?
