The fifth angel blew his trumpet (Rev 9:1)

“The fifth angel

Blew his trumpet.

I saw

A star

That had fallen

From heaven

To earth.

He was given

The key

To the bottomless pit.”

John said, “The fifth angel (Καὶ ὁ πέμπτος ἄγγελος) blew his trumpet (ἐσάλπισεν).  I saw (καὶ εἶδον) a star (ἀστέρα) that had fallen (πεπτωκότα) from heaven (ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ) to earth (εἰς τὴν γῆν).  He was given (καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ) the key (ἡ κλεὶς) to the bottomless pit (τοῦ φρέατος τῆς ἀβύσσου).”  John indicated that the fifth angel blew his trumpet.  He then saw a star fall from heaven to earth.  This star was given the key to the bottomless pit, Sheol, Hades, or the underworld.  Now something new would enter into this picture, this bottomless pit, the underworld.  What do you think about the underworld?
