The incense smoke rose up (Rev 8:4)

“The smoke

Of the incense,

With the prayers

Of the saints,

Rose before God

From the hand

Of the angel.”

John said “The smoke (ὁ καπνὸς) of the incense (τῶν θυμιαμάτων), with the prayers (ταῖς προσευχαῖς) of the saints (τῶν ἁγίων), rose (καὶ ἀνέβη) before God (ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ) from the hand (ἐκ χειρὸς) of the angel (τοῦ ἀγγέλου).”  John reminded everyone how the heavenly worship service was much like the former Jerusalem Temple service.  The smoke of the incense from the censer rose up before God from the anthropomorphic hand of the spiritual angel.  However, they were joined with the prayers of the Christian saints.  The new gentile multitude was being grafted into the Jewish temple worship service.  Have you ever been to a Jewish Temple worship service?
