“They will hunger
They will thirst
Nor any scorching heat,
Will not strike them.”
οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι οὐδὲ διψήσουσιν ἔτι, οὐδὲ μὴ πέσῃ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ὁ ἥλιος οὐδὲ πᾶν καῦμα,
John said, “They will hunger no more (οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι). They will thirst no more (οὐδὲ διψήσουσιν ἔτι). The sun (ὁ ἥλιος), nor any scorching heat (οὐδὲ πᾶν καῦμα), will not strike them (μὴ πέσῃ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς).” This is the only use of this Greek word that appears only in Revelation and not in any other canonical biblical NT writing, the word καῦμα, that means heat or burning heat. John said that the white robbed multitude of gentile people were not going to be hungry or thirsty anymore. They would not have to suffer from any kind of heat like the scorching hot sun anymore. Heat, hunger, and thirst would never bother them again. This was their eternal reward. What do you want your eternal reward to be?
