Remember the commandment of the Lord (2 Pet 3:2)

“You should remember

The words spoken

In the past

By the holy prophets,

And the commandment

Of the Lord

And Savior

Spoken through

Your apostles.”

This author said, “You should remember (μνησθῆνα) the words (ῥημάτων) spoken in the past (τῶν προειρημένων) by the holy prophets (ὑπὸ τῶν ἁγίων προφητῶν), and the commandment (ἐντολῆς) of the Lord (τοῦ Κυρίου) and Savior (καὶ Σωτῆρος) spoken through your apostles (καὶ τῆς τῶν ἀποστόλων ὑμῶν).”  This author was very specific about what he wanted his readers to remember.  They were to remember the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and their own apostles.  These were about the commandment of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  These were not any ambiguous words but the very commandment of Jesus Christ.  They had heard these words about the commandment of the Lord from the past holy prophets and the current apostles.  Where did you get your knowledge about Jesus Christ?
