God did not spare the ancient world (2 Pet 2:5)

“God did not spare

The ancient world.

But he saved Noah,

A herald of righteousness,

With seven others,

When he brought

A flood

On the world

Of the ungodly.”

This author said, “God did not spare (οὐκ ἐφείσατο) the ancient world (καὶ ἀρχαίου κόσμου).  But, (ἀλλὰ) he saved (ἐφύλαξεν) Noah (Νῶε), a herald (κήρυκα) of righteousness (δικαιοσύνης), with seven others (ὄγδοον), when he brought (ἐπάξας) a flood (κατακλυσμὸν) on the world (κόσμῳ) of the ungodly (ἀσεβῶν).”  The next example that this author used was the ancient world at the time of Noah as depicted in Genesis, chapters 6-10.  However, God saved eight people, including Noah and his family, his wife, his three sons and their wives, because Noah was a righteousness person.  God then destroyed all the other ungodly people with a great flood.  What do you think about the great flood with Noah and his ark?
