Confirm your call (2 Pet 1:10)

“Therefore,

Brothers!

Be all the more eager

To confirm

Your call

And your chosen election.

If you do this,

You will never stumble.”

This author said “Therefore (διὸ μᾶλλον), brothers (ἀδελφοί)!  Be all the more eager (σπουδάσατε) to confirm (βεβαίαν) your call (ὑμῶν τὴν κλῆσιν) and your chosen election (καὶ ἐκλογὴν ποιεῖσθαι).  If you do this (ταῦτα γὰρ ποιοῦντες), you will never stumble (οὐ μὴ πταίσητέ ποτε).”  This author called his readers “brothers”, the name for fellow Christian believers.  They should be eager and diligent to confirm or establish their call and election by God.  If they worked at all these stepping stones of faith, goodness, knowledge, godliness, discipline, patience, brotherly mutual affection, and love, they would never at any time stumble.  Have you stumbled in your Christian life?
