Jesus Christ has brought life (2 Tim. 1:10)

“But it has now

Been revealed

Through the appearance

Of our Savior Christ Jesus.

He has abolished death.

He has brought

To light

And immortality

Through the gospel.”

Paul said, “But it has now been revealed (φανερωθεῖσαν δὲ νῦν) through the appearance (διὰ τῆς ἐπιφανείας) of our Savior (τοῦ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν) Christ Jesus (Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ).  He has abolished (καταργήσαντος) death (μὲν τὸν θάνατον).  He has brought to light (φωτίσαντος) life (δὲ ζωὴν) and immortality (καὶ ἀφθαρσίαν) through the gospel (διὰ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου).”  Only the Pauline letters used this word ἐπιφανείας, that means appearance, manifestation, or glorious display, and the word ἀφθαρσίαν, that means incorruptibility, indestructibility, or immortality.  Paul explained that the appearance of our savior Jesus Christ has now been revealed.  Thus, Jesus Christ has abolished death.  He has brought us life and immorality through his gospel preaching.  Since Jesus Christ appeared, we are now saved through his gospel.  Death no longer has sway over us, since we now have the opportunity for an eternal life with Jesus Christ.  Do you appreciate how God has saved you through Jesus Christ?
