Everything is good (1 Tim. 4:4)

“Everything

Created by God

Is good.

Nothing is to be rejected,

Provided it is received

With thanksgiving.”

ὅτι πᾶν κτίσμα Θεοῦ καλόν, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀπόβλητον μετὰ εὐχαριστίας λαμβανόμενον

Paul said, “Everything created (ὅτι πᾶν κτίσμα) by God (Θεοῦ) is good (καλόν).  Nothing (καὶ οὐδὲν) is to be rejected (ἀπόβλητον), provided it is received (λαμβανόμενον) with thanksgiving (μετὰ εὐχαριστίας).”  Only this letter to Timothy used this unique word ἀπόβλητον, that means to be thrown away, rejected, worthy to be cast away, worthless, or regarded as vile.  Paul explained that God created everything good, a reflection on the first story of creation in Genesis, chapter 1:1-2:3.  Nothing should be rejected.  The only stipulation was that everything should be accepted and received with thanksgiving, giving thanks to God for the goodness that he has created.  Do you believe that the created world is good?
