Paul was appointed to serve Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 1:12)

“I am grateful

To Christ Jesus

Our Lord,

Who has strengthened me.

He judged me

He appointed me

To his service.”

Χάριν ἔχω τῷ ἐνδυναμώσαντί με Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ Κυρίῳ ἡμῶν, ὅτι πιστόν με ἡγήσατο θέμενος εἰς διακονίαν,

Paul said, “I am grateful (Χάριν ἔχω) to Christ Jesus (Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ) our Lord (τῷ Κυρίῳ ἡμῶν), who has strengthened me (τῷ ἐνδυναμώσαντί με).  He has judged me faithful (ὅτι πιστόν με ἡγήσατο).  He appointed (θέμενος) me to his service (εἰς διακονίαν).”  Paul turned to his personal history on how God transformed Saul a sinner into Paul, his apostle.  Paul was given the grace or was thankful to Jesus Christ, our Lord, who had strengthened him and considered or judged him faithful.  Therefore, Christ had appointed Paul to his service.  Paul was thankful that Jesus Christ had entered his life.  Are you thankful to have Jesus Christ in your life?
