“Each one of you
Your own body
εἰδέναι ἕκαστον ὑμῶν τὸ ἑαυτοῦ σκεῦος κτᾶσθαι ἐν ἁγιασμῷ καὶ τιμῇ,
Paul said, “Each one of you (ἕκαστον ὑμῶν) know (εἰδέναι) how to control (κτᾶσθαι) your own body (τὸ ἑαυτοῦ σκεῦος) in holiness (ἐν ἁγιασμῷ) and honor (καὶ τιμῇ).” Only the Pauline letters used this word ἁγιασμὸς, that means consecration, sanctification, becoming holy, set apart, or consecrated. Paul told the Thessalonians that each one of them knew how to control their own body or vessel so that they would live a life of holiness and honor. Paul reminded the followers of Jesus Christ at Thessalonica that they had control of their bodies. Thus, there was no reason why they could not be holy and honorable people. Do you have control over your body?
