“As you know,
With each one of you
Like a father
With his children.”
καθάπερ οἴδατε ὡς ἕνα ἕκαστον ὑμῶν ὡς πατὴρ τέκνα ἑαυτοῦ
Paul said, “As you know (καθάπερ οἴδατε), we dealt with each one of you (ὡς ἕνα ἕκαστον ὑμῶν) like a father (ὡς πατὴρ) with his children (τέκνα ἑαυτοῦ).” Paul further explained this same idea. They knew that he had dealt with each one of them as if he was a father caring for his own children. He had a great fatherly love for them. Paul saw his evangelization as someone who was giving birth to children. He needed to raise them up to maturity, like their heavenly father wanted. Are you fatherly in your approach to people?
