We did not seek human praise (1 Thess. 2:6)

“We did not seek praise

From human mortals

Whether from you

Or other men.”

οὔτε ζητοῦντες ἐξ ἀνθρώπων δόξαν, οὔτε ἀφ’ ὑμῶν οὔτε ἀπ’ ἄλλων,

Paul said, “We did not seek (οὔτε ζητοῦντες) praise (δόξαν) from human mortals (ἐξ ἀνθρώπων) whether from you (οὔτε ἀφ’ ὑμῶν) or other men (οὔτε ἀπ’ ἄλλων).”  Paul explained that he and his companions were not seeking human praise, whether from them or others.  Their only aim was to please God in spreading the good news about Jesus Christ.  Do you seek human praise?
