The new clothes (chapter 3)

Paul said that now that they were God’s chosen ones, they had to put on the new clothes of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.  They had to bear with each other and forgive one another.  The Lord had forgiven them, now they should forgive each other.  Above all, they had to clothe themselves with love that binds everything in perfect harmony.  The peace of Christ should rule in their hearts.  They should be thankful that they were called to be one body in Christ.  The word of God should dwell in them, so that they should teach and admonish each other with wisdom and gratitude.  They should sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.  Everything they did, whether in word or deed, should be done in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father.
