Gracious speech (Col. 4:6)

“Let your speech

Always be gracious,

Seasoned with salt,

So that you may know

How you ought

To answer everyone.”

Paul said, “Let your speech (ὁ λόγος ὑμῶν) always be gracious (πάντοτε ἐν χάριτι), seasoned with salt (ἅλατι ἠρτυμένος), so that you may know (εἰδέναι) how you ought to answer everyone (πῶς δεῖ ὑμᾶς ἑνὶ ἑκάστῳ ἀποκρίνεσθαι).”  Paul gave the Colossian Christians advice on how they were to speak.  They should always speak with grace or graciously.  However, they should put a little salt or spice in their presentations to make their speech more interesting.  Thus, they then would be able to answer anyone who had a question about being a Christian.  Are you able to talk about being a Christian?
