We have heard of your faith (Col. 1:4)

“We have heard

Of your faith

In Christ Jesus

And of the love

That you have

For all the saints.”

ἀκούσαντες τὴν πίστιν ὑμῶν ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ καὶ τὴν ἀγάπην ἣν ἔχετε εἰς πάντας τοὺς ἁγίους

Paul said, “We have heard (ἀκούσαντες) of your faith (τὴν πίστιν ὑμῶν) in Christ Jesus (ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ) and of the love (καὶ τὴν ἀγάπην) that you have (ἣν ἔχετε) for all the saints (εἰς πάντας τοὺς ἁγίους).”  Much like the letter to the Romans, Paul seems to indicate that he had not been to Colossae, since he only heard about their faith and love.  These were the key ingredients or virtues among the early Christian communities, faith in Jesus Christ and love of their fellow believing community members, the holy ones or the saints.  Do you love your fellow Christians?
