God’s mercy and love (Eph. 2:4)

“But God

Is rich

In mercy.

Out of his great love

He loved us.”

ὁ δὲ Θεὸς πλούσιος ὢν ἐν ἐλέει, διὰ τὴν πολλὴν ἀγάπην αὐτοῦ ἣν ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς,

Paul said, “But God (ὁ δὲ Θεὸς) is rich (πλούσιος) in mercy (ὢν ἐν ἐλέει).  Out of his great love (διὰ τὴν πολλὴν ἀγάπην αὐτοῦ), he loved us (ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς).”  Paul explained that despite our sinful past, God was rich in mercy.  From his great love, he poured out his love for us.  Even though we were sinners, God still loved us.  God’s love can overcome our sins.  Has God’s love had an effect in your life?
