The divine son born to a woman (Gal. 4:4)

“But when the fullness of time

Had come,

God sent

His Son,

Born of a woman,

Born under the law.”

Paul said, “But when the fullness of time had come (ὅτε δὲ ἦλθεν τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ χρόνου), God (ὁ Θεὸς) sent (ἐξαπέστειλεν) his Son (τὸν Υἱὸν αὐτοῦ), born of a woman (γενόμενον ἐκ γυναικός), born under the law (γενόμενον ὑπὸ νόμον).”  Paul explained that when the fullness of time came, when we had reached maturity, the time set by the father for the inheritance to be handed over, then God sent his divine son to us, humans.  Paul pointed out that God’s divine son was born of a woman and under the law.  This divine son was a true human being, flesh and blood, who truly shared in the human condition.  He was not pretending to be human.  He really was a human.  The Son of God was born under the law, a real Jewish person, the Messiah, who came to rescue Israel from the immature slavery of the Mosaic law.  Paul made no reference to a political messiah, but only a religious messiah.  The Son of God, Jesus, was truly a Jewish man born under the law.  Do you believe that Jesus Christ was truly a Jewish man?
