I will boast (2 Cor. 11:18)

“Since many boast

According to human standards,

I too will boast.”

ἐπεὶ πολλοὶ καυχῶνται κατὰ τὴν σάρκα, κἀγὼ καυχήσομαι.

Paul said, “Since many people boast (ἐπεὶ πολλοὶ καυχῶνται) according to human standards (κατὰ τὴν σάρκα), I too will boast (κἀγὼ καυχήσομαι).”  Only the Pauline letters used this word καυχῶνται and καυχήσομαι, that mean boasting, glorying, or exultation.  Paul made it clear he was going to boast like other humans.  He was not afraid to get into this comparison with these false apostles.  Have you ever compared yourself to other people?
