The righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21)

“For our sake,

God made

Jesus Christ

To be sin,

Who knew no sin,

So that in him,

We might become

The righteousness of God.”

Paul said that for our sake (ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν), God made Jesus Christ to be sin (ἁμαρτίαν ἐποίησεν), who knew no sin (τὸν μὴ γνόντα ἁμαρτίαν), so that in him (ἐν αὐτῷ), we might become (ἵνα ἡμεῖς γενώμεθα) the righteousness of God (δικαιοσύνη Θεοῦ).  Paul explained that God took the sinless one, Jesus Christ, and made him a sin offering, as in the Judaic tradition, for our sake.  Thus, we are able to become righteous with God.  God sent Jesus Christ for us to be set right with God.  Jesus Christ, the Lord, was the reconciler and the righteous maker for his followers.  We would be right again with God through Jesus Christ.  Do you want to be righteous with God?
