The judgment seat (2 Cor. 5:10)

“Each of us

Must appear

Before the judgment seat

Of Christ,

So that each one

May receive recompense

For what has been done

In the body,

Whether good or evil.”

Paul said that each of us must appear (τοὺς γὰρ πάντας ἡμᾶς φανερωθῆναι δεῖ) before the judgment seat (ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ βήματος) of Christ (τοῦ Χριστοῦ), so that each one may receive recompense (ἵνα κομίσηται ἕκαστος) for what has been done (πρὸς ἃ ἔπραξεν) in the body (τὰ διὰ τοῦ σώματος), whether good (εἴτε ἀγαθὸν) or evil (εἴτε φαῦλον).  Paul indicated that all of them were going to have go before the judgment seat of Jesus Christ.  Israelite sources often spoke about God on his seat or throne.  Christ would then judge all of us for our actions in our bodily earthly existence.  We would be rewarded or punished on whether we had done good or evil.  Paul told them to expect or anticipate the great judgment day.  Are you ready for the judgment day before Christ?
