We are always confident (2 Cor. 5:6)

“Thus,

We are always confident.

Even though we know

That while we are at home

In the body,

We are away from the Lord.”

Θαρροῦντες οὖν πάντοτε καὶ εἰδότες ὅτι ἐνδημοῦντες ἐν τῷ σώματι ἐκδημοῦμεν ἀπὸ τοῦ Κυρίου·

Paul said that we are always confident (Θαρροῦντες οὖν πάντοτε).  Even though we know (καὶ εἰδότες) that while we are at home (ὅτι ἐνδημοῦντες) in the body (ἐν τῷ σώματι), we are away (ἐκδημοῦμεν) from the Lord (ἀπὸ τοῦ Κυρίου).  Only the Pauline letters used this word Θαρροῦντες, that means to be of good courage, courageous, confident, or of good cheer.  Only this Corinthian letter used this word ἐνδημοῦντες, that means to be in one’s own country, to be at home, or live in a place, and the word ἐκδημοῦμεν, that means away from home, or absent.  Paul said that they were very confident, even though they were at home in their human bodies, they were still away from the Lord.  As long as their human mortal existence continued, they were not with the Lord.  Nevertheless, they were confident that they would have eternal life with Jesus, when they would leave their mortal body and be with the Lord.  Are you confident in your future eternal life?

Yes, a great reminder that thru Christ we are Sacred Space already but not yet in our Glorified bodies. This should/will provide confidence in our daily walk with the Lord. Great post…. Blessings!!
