“If there was glory
In the ministry
Does the ministry of justification
Abound in glory.”
εἰ γὰρ ἡ διακονία τῆς κατακρίσεως δόξα, πολλῷ μᾶλλον περισσεύει ἡ διακονία τῆς δικαιοσύνης δόξῃ.
Paul said that if there (εἰ γὰρ) was any glory (δόξα) in the ministry of condemnation (ἡ διακονία τῆς κατακρίσεως), much more (πολλῷ μᾶλλον) does the ministry of justification (ἡ διακονία τῆς δικαιοσύνης) abound (περισσεύει) in glory (δόξῃ). Only this Corinthian letter used this word κατακρίσεως, that means condemnation or censure. Paul then compared the glory that was in the ministry of condemnation, that of the Mosaic law, with the ministry of justification of the Jesus Christ. The comparison was simple. In as much as there was any or some glory with Moses in the Mosaic law, there will be much more abundantly glory in the justification of Jesus Christ. No comparison would do it justice. Do you glory in the justification of Jesus Christ?
