God will rescue us (2 Cor. 1:10)

“God rescued us

From a great deadly situation.

He will continue

To rescue us.

We have set our hope

On him

That he will rescue us again.”

ὃς ἐκ τηλικούτου θανάτου ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς καὶ ῥύσεται, εἰς ὃν ἠλπίκαμεν ὅτι καὶ ἔτι ῥύσεται,

Paul said that God rescued us (ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς) from such a great deathly situation (ὃς ἐκ τηλικούτου θανάτου).  He will continue to rescue us (καὶ ῥύσεται).  We have set our hope on him (εἰς ὃν ἠλπίκαμεν) that he will rescue us again (ὅτι καὶ ἔτι ῥύσεται).  God had rescued them once from a very bad situation.  He continues to rescue them.  They hoped that he would continue to rescue them in the future again.  Thus, their hope was based on the past, the present, and the future.  Do you hope that God will protect you?
