The order of resurrection (1 Cor. 15:23)

“But each in his own order,

Is the first fruits.

Then at his coming,

Those who belong to Christ.”

Paul said that each had its own order (Ἕκαστος δὲ ἐν τῷ ἰδίῳ τάγματι).  Christ was the first fruits (ἀπαρχὴ Χριστός).  Then at his coming (ἐν τῇ παρουσίᾳ αὐτοῦ), those who belong to Christ (ἔπειτα οἱ τοῦ Χριστοῦ).  Only this Corinthian letter used this word τάγματι, that means arranged in order, a division, rank, or an ordered series.  Paul indicated that there was a certain order to things.  Jesus Christ was the first fruits of the resurrection.  Then with his second coming, the Parousia (παρουσίᾳ), all those who belonged to Christ would be next to rise from the dead.  Our future resurrection is in the hands of Christ.  Will you have to wait for the coming of Christ for your eternal life?
