“Those who deal
With the world
Should be
As though they had no dealings with it.
The form of this world
Is passing away.”
καὶ οἱ χρώμενοι τὸν κόσμον ὡς μὴ καταχρώμενοι· παράγει γὰρ τὸ σχῆμα τοῦ κόσμου τούτου.
Paul said that those who deal with the world (καὶ οἱ χρώμενοι τὸν κόσμον) should be as though they had no dealings with it (ὡς μὴ καταχρώμενοι). The form (γὰρ τὸ σχῆμα) of this world (τοῦ κόσμου τούτου) is passing away (παράγει). Only the Pauline letters used this word καταχρώμενοι, that means to make full use of, use up, and the word σχῆμα, that means figure, shape, form, or appearance. Paul indicated that those who had dealings with this world should be as if they had nothing to do with using the things of this world. Paul said that the form or the shape of this world was going to pass away. The end times, the judgment day of the second coming of Jesus was at hand. Do not be worried about this world. Are you worried about this world that you live in?
