“You were bought
With a price!
Do not become
Slaves of men.”
τιμῆς ἠγοράσθητε· μὴ γίνεσθε δοῦλοι ἀνθρώπων.
Paul said. “You were bought with a price (τιμῆς ἠγοράσθητε)! Do not become slaves of men (μὴ γίνεσθε δοῦλοι ἀνθρώπων).” Paul insisted that they had been bought with a price, Jesus on the cross. Thus, as freed men and yet slaves of Christ, they should not become slaves of their fellow men. Since they were not slaves, they should not sell themselves into slavery. Are you a slave to other men?
