“Let everyone lead the life
That the Lord has assigned
To them.
Lead the life
In which God
Has called them.
This is my rule
In all the churches.”
Paul said that everyone (Εἰ μὴ ἑκάστῳ) should lead or walk (οὕτως περιπατείτω) the life that the Lord (ὁ Κύριος) has assigned (ὡς μεμέρικεν) to them, the life in which God (ὁ Θεός) has called them (ἕκαστον ὡς κέκληκεν). This (καὶ οὕτως) was his rule (διατάσσομαι) in all the churches (ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις). Paul reminded all the believers in Corinth that everyone should walk or lead their lives the way that God had assigned them and called them. Paul had given this instruction to all the new Christians in the various communities he had set up or visited. His rule was simple. Do what God and the Lord have called you to do and keep it up. Walk in the ways of the Lord! Do you lead the life that God wants for you?
