The single life style (1 Cor. 7:8)

“To the unmarried

And the widows,

I say

That it is well

For them

To remain single

As I do.

Λέγω δὲ τοῖς ἀγάμοις καὶ ταῖς χήραις, καλὸν αὐτοῖς ἐὰν μείνωσιν ὡς κἀγώ·

Paul said (Λέγω) to the unmarried (δὲ τοῖς ἀγάμοις) and the widows (καὶ ταῖς χήραις), that it is well for them (καλὸν αὐτοῖς) to remain single (ἐὰν μείνωσιν) as he does (ὡς κἀγώ).  Only the Pauline letters used this word ἀγάμοις, that means unmarried or not in a state of wedlock.  Paul had some advice for the unmarried people and the widows.  He simply said that that it would be well or better to stay that way, single, just as he was.  This was a clear statement by Paul that he was not married.  He wanted others to be like him.  Do you know people who are not married?
