“The husband should give
To his wife
Her conjugal rights.
To her husband.”
τῇ γυναικὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ τὴν ὀφειλὴν ἀποδιδότω, ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ τῷ ἀνδρί.
Paul said that “the husband should give to his wife (τῇ γυναικὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ) her conjugal rights or literally fulfill their duty (ὀφειλὴν ἀποδιδότω). Likewise (ὁμοίως), the wife to her husband (δὲ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ τῷ ἀνδρί).” There was a Jewish customary tradition that men and women should have frequent intercourse. This was a shared right and privilege that both the wife and husband had. This was not a one-sided male demand. The conjugal rights or fulfilling their duty as a married couple was a shared concept. Do you accept the concept of shared conjugal rights?
