“Welcome one another!
Just as Christ
Has welcomed you,
For the glory of God.”
Διὸ προσλαμβάνεσθε ἀλλήλους, καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς προσελάβετο ἡμᾶς, εἰς δόξαν τοῦ Θεοῦ.
Paul said to his Roman Christian readers that they should welcome or receive (Διὸ προσλαμβάνεσθε) one another (ἀλλήλους)! Therefore, just as Christ (καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς) has welcomed them (προσελάβετο ἡμᾶς) for the glory of God (εἰς δόξαν τοῦ Θεοῦ). Paul wanted his readers to be as welcoming to each other as Jesus was in welcoming them. Jesus Christ had received or welcomed them for the glory of God. Now it was their turn to welcome each other the way that Jesus had accepted them, also for the glory or praise of God. Do you welcome other people?
