The words about Abraham are not just for him (Rom 4:23)

“But the words,

‘It was reckoned to him.’

Were written

Not for his sake alone.”

Οὐκ ἐγράφη δὲ δι’ αὐτὸν μόνον ὅτι ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ,

Paul said that that the words, “It was reckoned to him (ὅτι ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ)” were written not (Οὐκ ἐγράφη) for his sake alone (δὲ δι’ αὐτὸν μόνον).  These words about the credit of righteousness to Abraham were not written for his sake alone in Genesis, chapter 15:6.  Paul had mentioned this earlier in this chapter in verse 3.  These words had wider implications.  Abraham was to be the model of faith in God.  Who is your faith model?
